Workshop: Artificial intelligence and innovation in psychological intervention
"Artificial intelligence will change the world”. Beyond theories, how can we actually use it?
At the 30th edition of Encontro Nacional de Estudantes de Psicologia (ENEP), me and my colleague Tiago demonstrated what can already be done today in psychology using artificial intelligence.
From facial and voice recognition to generative AI, from data analysis through machine learning to multimodal integration in expanded realities; the options are continuosly growing, but at the same grows the concerns and responsibilities for the correct use of this technology.

Presence at the 6th Congress of the Portuguese Psychologists' Association
This year I had the opportunity to be part of the scientific committee of the 6th Congress of the Portuguese Psychologists' Association / 13th Ibero-American Congress of Psychology.
The communication based on my doctoral thesis: “The contribute of emerging technologies to personalize psychological assessment” also made its presence at the Youth Space innitiative.

Interview with Alento on Artificial Intelligence and Psychology
“Psicologicamente falando is a series of interviews by Alento Saúde with mental health experts. 2023 PICO Dev Jam Award: Best Non-Game App
The application prototype Roleplaiar, developed over the course of 1 month during the 2023 PICO Dev Jam, received 2 awards for the EMEA region (EU, UK, Africa, Mid East): Best non-game application and 5th place.
This application uses an interconnection of different Artificial Intelligence models in Augmented Reality to provide a unique roleplay opportunity. Roleplaiar is currently in development and is estimated to launch in 2025~2026.

Innovation in Psychological Intervention - 'Innovation Hub 2023' Award
Together with my PhD colleague Tiago Abril, I submitted and presented the project “PSAIT | Psychological Intervention through Artificial Intelligence” at the 6th edition of the Portuguese Psychologists' Association Innovation Hub.
In this project, we presented a proposal for how conversational artificial intelligence could be used to fill gaps in the provision of psychological services.
